Laurie: Oprah, January is a time of dreams. We’re getting ready to celebrate the day of one of the most
influential Black leaders of all times, and Martin Luther King Jr. was proud to proclaim that he had a dream. Granted, his dream was for the betterment of all man/womankind but can you blame a couple of New York City chicks for dreaming about their futures? Dreams have to start somewhere, you know.
elizabeth: Yes, it is good to have a dream and personally I would love to see the fulfillment of Dr. King’s dream first since he is one of my heroes. But our dream to be on the cover of O Magazine is all because of our message. What is our message? Well all righty –to help people become courageous and fearless and to help our fellow womankind obtain or surpass their goals. Hey, for a couple on New York City chicks – I think we are quite noble ourselves.
Laurie: And we’re not just doing that Secret thing where you envision it and it will come. Much preparation has gone into this request. The Oprah gods are summoned on a daily basis; pictures of your Supreme Loveliness have been cut out and pasted on our vision boards; your daily talk show has been watched and your four-pound magazine has been read from cover to glossy cover; and last, but certainly not least, haven’t we bothered you every Wednesday with the hopes that you will hear our pleas? What else are two persistent and talented bloggers to do? elizabeth walks dogs, and as long as I don’t make any money, I’m pretty much good to go on anything. So name your terms and let the dream realizations begin!
elizabeth: I thought you told people that I have gone to the dogs. Now I am walking them, too. I will need a warmer coat.
Oprah, we are waiting patiently. You think having Ellen on the cover helped sell a lot of magazines? Put us on the cover and you will double what Ellen did. I know five friends who would buy the issue. So can you please send us our photo release forms?
