Laurie: Red ribbons, gooey chocolates, lace, and mushy cards – do we want this for Valentine’s Day? Heck no! What would get our blood boiling, our hearts thumping, and our asses in gear to drop those damn extra pounds would be that call from Oprah’s people saying “Yes,
you can be on the cover of O Magazine!”
elizabeth: Laurie, put the candy down. Take a deep cleansing breath. I am sure when the call does come in we will respond with a simple, “Hot damn, we are on our way!” And then under our breaths proclaim, “It took you long enough.” But we can blame that bitchy retort on the sugar high.
Laurie: We will spell out our undying devotion to you in NECCO candy hearts, send you a barrel of candy kisses, write our life stories in dark chocolate, and promise not to bug you for a repeat cover shot for at least a year. How’s that for “sweetening” up the offer? Now we are talking one hellified Valentine’s Day gift!
elizabeth: Do you think sending a barrel of candy kisses is what Oprah is looking for? Are you sniffing cocoa? How about a framed picture of the Coaches on the Edge? Less calories. More pleasing a gesture on our parts. It just might get us the call we have been waiting for. Do you have Prince Albert in a can?
