elizabeth: Did you hear that Oprah just gifted her O employees with $10,000 and an i-Pad? Girlfriend, that was such a generous gesture on Oprah’s part, but don’t go spending it all – save a little. For the IRS. Well, maybe more  imagesthan a little.  I guess nothing, including Oprah’s generosity to her O Magazine staffers, is free.

But putting the Coaches on the Edge on the cover of O magazine is free. We won’t charge a plum dime to get on the cover. I can do Laurie’s hair and I promise not to line her lips with black eyeliner.

Laurie: Actually I like my lips lined with black eyeliner – not.  This is from a girl who spent her teen years obliterating her lips with Erase (remember that?).  But if the Goth look will get us on the cover of O, what the hell?

elizabeth: So the average person (sorry, I hate the word “average” – I’m not and you shouldn’t be normal either) falls into the tax bracket of 28%. That’s nearly 3 grand those employees will have to pay Uncle Sam in 2011.  Ouch. I would feel like I just got robbed. But I love the IRS and all the great work they do, so maybe the cover that features the Coaches on the Edge could have an IRS agent or two milling about in the background.  Who am I kidding? There is only room for the Coaches on the Edge and Oprah. Get your own damn cover.

Laurie: Wow, I have healthy fear of the IRS too, but sharing the cover of O with them?  I think not.  If our careers zoom into the high heavens as we are proposing/envisioning/praying, then the lovely tax people will be right there to benefit from our prosperity.  Until then, the check is in the mail, lovely IRS people.
