elizabeth: Hey, Oprah. I am growing tired of my day job which is basically trying to come up with clever ways to get your attention.  I  imagesknow you don’t accept gifts or bribes (good thing about the bribing – check out my savings account – $00.02 balance).  What’s a girl to do? So I had this idea. What if next Wednesday, June 2nd, all the people in the world send you an email, write a blog making our case to be on the cover of O and twitter about it until that twitter whale starts eating retweets? Maybe we need a village of people who will help us. Hey, Facebook, let’s unite behind the Coaches on the Edge and help us get on the cover of O.

Laurie: It worked for Betty White and Saturday Night Live.   We may not be quite as well known, but we are younger (slightly).

elizabeth: Now that Lost, 24, Heroes, Medium and Law and Order are off the air, how about giving people something to get up for in the morning? Coaches on the Edge on the cover of O. So that’s Wednesday. June 2, 2010. Be there to change our world.

Laurie: Please do not neglect my “reality shows.”  Let’s bid a fond farewell to The Biggest Loser, The Amazing Race, Celebrity Apprentice (I only watched because I was concerned about Bret Michaels’ health) and…drum roll, please…America’s Next Top Model.

elizabeth: Then I had this other idea. A way to get us on the cover while also addressing some of the problems in this country. How about one of these as a theme for the cover shot? I would be willing to clean oil soaked pelicans from LA.  I would take up the cause to keep the arts in school by singing with U2 while Bon recovers from back surgery. Okay, I will lip-sync. There is enough rioting in this world.   I could host The Search For America’s Next Honest Politician. Laurie could be the executive producer. So what do you say? Yes. That’s what I thought.

Laurie: That should pluck her heartstrings but I think you’re right about the bribes.  The only one I can see Oprah being even vaguely interested in would be that we will stop pestering her.  And that sort of defeats our purpose.
